In the north western corner, there is the Serra de Tramuntana - Mallorca's largest mountain range running from Andratx to Pollenca with the Puig Major topping out at 1445m. These mountains are home to some of Mallorca's most extravagant and secluded villas and attract the adventure travellers who like trekking and mountain biking.
Southern Mallorca
The south of the island is home to the capital, Palma de Mallorca and some of the better known beach resorts such as Magaluf, Palmanova, Portals Nous, Santa Ponca and Peguera. There is also the Serra de Llevant - Mallorca's second mountain range in the south east which, whilst not as steep or high as the Serra de Tramuntana, still provides walking and cycling trails for beginners through to experts.
For windsurfing and kitesurfing, the beaches around Can Pastilla are on a par with Pollensa in the north whilst the coves around the southwest of the island are famous for snorkelling and diving.
Mallorca holiday rentals
