Sorrento has an excellent stock of tourist beds from luxurious 5-star hotels to private holiday rentals - beach and hillsside villas or town centre apartments. Given that Sorrento is a large town, the accommodation can be a short drive from the centre and beach and therefore a car is highly recommended although parking it once in the centre is another question! - public transport or taxi is bt far the better option.

Things to see and do in Sorrento
Sorrento and the surrounding area is full of interesting villages, historic sites and countryside to explore. Here are a few suggestions...
- Take a boat to the stunning island of Capri and see the underwater grotto
- The ruins of Pompeii are just a short drive away - best visied outside of the peak summer season as it tends to get very busy - plus a tour of Mount Vesuvius
- Cross the peninsula to the bustling town of Amalfi with its hilly back alleys lined with boutiques and cafes

Self catering accommodation is ideal for family holidays and staying in one of the largest towns on the Amalfi Coast has the added benefit of having everything you need to make a great holiday on your doorstep. It's also an ideal base for exploring the rest of the beautiful villages on the Amalfi coas, and a resort you will probably visit again and again.
