Split holidays, Dalmatia Holiday rentals - villas & holiday homes to rent in Split
Split is the largest city in Dalmatia and has an enviable location of being right on the beach looking out to hundreds of islands and islets. This beautiful medieval town oozes charm and culture with the old town and Roman ruins blending in seemlessly with the vibrant nightlife. The city is backed up by the impressive Marjan hill covered in cypress and Mediterranean pine trees. From the top, the views are spectacular and you can see the Mosor and Kozjak mountain ranges in the distance.
At the bottom of Marjan, there is a lovely beach whilst to the east, you will discover a horseshoe bay called Stobrec. This is a popular place for families with young children as the waters are shallow and safe. The main tourist beach is called Bacvice located south east of the city and this is where you can rent a boat and head off to some of the nearby islands.
