Morgat villa holidays, Brittany Holiday rentals - villas & holiday homes to rent in Morgat
Morgat is a costal town situated in the bay of Douarnenez on the Crozon peninsula in western Brittany. It lies between two rocky outcrops, Pointe des Grottes to the east and the Pointe du Kador (Beg ar Gador) to the west. This bay offers protection from the forces of the Atlantic, and is therefore considerably calmer than some of the other beaches in western Finistere. It stretches for over a kilometre long, and is simply stunning with its golden sands, making it the best beach to be found around the western Brittany coast. It is one of the main reasons people come to Morgat.
Morgat is famous for its caves 'Grottes Marines de Morgat' which are made up of a cluster of four caves, renowned for their red and pink patterns as a result of algae and iron oxide. It is also very well known for the music festivals it holds, such as the 'Festival du bout du Monde'.
