Krk Island holidays, Kvarner Holiday rentals - villas & holiday homes to rent on Krk Island
Krk Island is the largest in the Kvarner archipelago covering an area of 409 sq kms with a length of 38kms. It is connected to the mainland by a toll bridge or you can catch a ferry from Rijeka with sailing times of around 1 hour. The fortified Old Town of Krk with its preserved town centre dating back to the 15th century is not to be missed - it's like stepping back in time with the cobbled streets and with walls along its entire length. During the evenings, the waterfront is the place to be with many restaurants, cafes and bars facing on to the hundreds of fishing and tourist boats that pack the marina.
Looking for a beautiful beach? You will need to head to the south coast in Baška. This resort is very popular with families as it has the best beach on the island called Veli Plaža which stretches for 2kms. Everything you could wish for is available from sunbeds and umbrellas to soft-play slides, trampolines and pedalos to hire.
