Koh Phangan self catering holidays, Thailand Spectacular island off the Haad Rin southeastern peninsula
Koh Phangan sits in The Gulf of Thailand off the southeast coast within the Chumphon Archipelago and has been attracting tourists for generations. A fantastic destination for anytime of year but especially during the winter months.
Whilst a vibrant and tropical island, Koh Phangan retains its rich Thai culture and history as can be seen in the beautiful Buddhist temples, like the oldest on the island, Wat Phu Khao Noi. The many beach resort streets are lined with boutiques, bars and restaurants and is a magnet for tourists day and night.
The evenings are very lively especially around the beach front, of course Koh Phangan is the home of the famous Full Moon Parties which follow the lunar calendar. There is always a live music show, fire dancers and entertainment streaming from the beach or from one of the many beach bars open until the early hours.
