Comporta takes some beating if you are looking for a family holiday as the beaches are fantastic. The beaches of the Tróia peninsula are great for families with younger children as the waves are more gentle than other parts of the Atlantic coast and the waters are shallow. There are also many beach cafes and bars to eat and buy ice cream or drinks especially at the Tróia Marina which is the where you can take a boat trip to see the dolphins in the Sado Reserve.
