Self catering holidays in Ciutadella - a jewel on the west coast of Menorca, Ciutadella is the old capital of Menorca with beautiful architecture and a stunning marina and port making it a great holiday destination. In the late 1800s the British changed the capital city from Ciutadella on the west coast to Mahon for its strategic position away from mainland Spain and due to the fact that Mahon has one of the deepest natural harbours in the world. Ciutadella has ancient history and the architecture is really old making it a super interesting place to visit.

The city itself has a lovely atmosphere with numerous cafés, bars and restaurants selling local produce and notably some great fish restaurants around the marina. On the warm summer evenings, the old ritual of a stroll or paseo along the promenade stretching from the marina into the central square is not to be missed. For late evening entertainment, there are several music bars and clubs which mainly operate between April and October.
