Sitting on the Western shore 6km north of Como, Cernobbio is a lovely tranquil village with winding cobbled streets, although during the summer the town gets very busy as tourists from the other Lake Como resorts visit in the hope of spotting George Clooney who lives nearby!
Cernobbio has many excellent cafes, wine bars and restaurants, many overlooking Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. Mount Bisbino rises to 1326m above the town of Cernobbio and there are many hiking routes to the summit, although it is far easier to simply drive to the top!
