Castelveccana holidays Things to see & do in Castelveccana, Lake Maggiore
Castelveccana is just a few kms south of the busy Porto Valtravaglia on the eastern side of Lake Maggiore, occupying one of the most scenic spots on the lake, with the impressive Rocca Caldé to one side of the pretty marina.
As the name suggests, there used to be a castle at the summit of Rocca Caldé but this is now in ruins. However, the gentle hike through the tiny hamlet of St Pietro on the way to the top is well worth it, as the views are spectacular.

Castelveccana is made up of 11 hamlets including Caldè, which has one of the prettiest marinas on Lake Maggiore. Rising up the hill from the shore, these tiny hamlets offer peace and tranquility and yet are only minutes away from the bustling promenade. Renting a villa or apartment in Castelveccana provides some breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains and is ideal for those looking for something a little less mainstream.

Our view on Castelveccana
Castelveccana is a fairly low-key resort in comparison to say Stresa or Locarno, but it certainly is hard to beat in terms of its beauty. We think Castelveccana is a great base for getting away from it all, but still with easy access to everything Lake Maggiore has to offer.
