Candelaria is a charming small town found on the eastern coast of the island of Tenerife, 17km southwest of the capital Santa Cruz. This old fishing village is steeped in history with well preserved buildings and a peaceful local feel. A fantastic destination for anytime of year but especially during the summer months.
Candelaria is home of the Patron Saint of the Canary Isalnds, the Virgin of Candelaria. The Basilica of Candelaria is an important religious building and holds an image of the virgin inside. You will see life sized bronze statues at the entrance of the Basilisca of the past kings of Tenerife before the Spanish conquest.

There is something for everyone with interesting places to visit, excellent resturants that would rival the most cosmopolitan cities, its difficult not to have a great time in Candelaria.
