- Head into Stresa and take the cable car up to Monte Mottarone - stunning views of the lake and quite a gentle walk back down
- Sail up to the chic resort of Locarno in the northern Swiss section of the lake
- During the winter, ski on the pistes above Maggiore, whilst a little further afield is the international ski resort of Madesimo
Our view on Baveno
Baveno is a great base for exploring Lake Maggiore - well connected by ferry and with superb views. As far as lakes & mountains holiday resorts go, Baveno is up there with the best.
