Holidays on Elba - a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea’s Tuscan Archipelago National Park and is a popular tourist destination throughout the year but especially during the hot summer months. Famous for its glorious beaches and as Napoleon’s place of exile in 1814–15, Elba is also known for mining minerals which still happens today.
Portoferraio is the capital of Elba and the main ferry gateway to the mainland. The Medici Harbour is impressive are the remains of the Forte Falcone and Forte Stella, the fortification that protected the city.
You don't necessarily need a car to get around Elba. The public transport is excellent and there are many car and bike rentals agencies.
